The Republic of Albania is a country in Southern and Southeastern Europe, that is extremally seeing as badland. It’s not a stereotype, actually be warned, it’s one of the most dangerous places in Europe. With tourism only starting to pick up in recent years, locals are still curious and excited to meet visitors. You will encounter nothing but warmth from Albanian people, even when they don’t speak a word of English. One of the most challenging aspects of traveling in Albania is the lack of central bus stations, making transport confusing and obscure. Fortunately though, with the help of lovely locals, asking for directions has never been easier; don’t be surprised if someone spends a good half an hour helping you out.You will feel so at home that leaving will be seriously difficult.

We are known for very high rates of emigration. Albania lost 30% of its population because of people fleeing the country. Sad but true. The bottom picture is a real one, but we just try to make some jokes out of the situation that happened years ago.

Bellow, there are some of Albanian Steotypes that we commonly hear, because most of those negative things refer to a very small percentage of Albanians.

Negative:

-Albanian men are involved in human trafficking.
-Albanian men are involved in selling drugs.
-Albanians are thieves.
-Albanians are murderers.
-Albanians are involved in the mafia.
-Albanian men use non-Albanian women.
-Albanians hate everyone that is not Albanian.
-Albanian fathers kill their daughters boyfriends.
-Albanians are crazy.

Positive.

-Albanians are hospitable.
-Albanians are very clean.
-Albanians are good cooks.
-Albanians preserve their culture.
-Albanians are traditional.
-Albanians are loyal.

Unfortunately... Trying to drive a car in Albania when you're used to other roads - its not fun! (And actually quite traumatic). I think most of Albanians are quite blind when it comes to road signs.
